#growingselfie

Saturday marked twenty-two whole weeks. I'm over halfway there and feeling really good. The only thing I have to complain about is waking up at all hours of the night (expected) and the occasional outrageous dreams... But those always make for interesting stories in the morning. Baby is about a foot long and weighing in at one pound. I've gained about ten pounds myself so far... Around a pound a week since the beginning of my 2nd trimester. I feel good about that. The bump is growing by the day but small enough to still be comfortable... And even fit into a few pre-pregnancy tops (like the one below). Enjoying this while I can! I promised Trev I'd start documenting my growing self (before it's too late and I'm just... huge) and not avoiding the camera every time he wants to take a pic. :-) So, here we go... Me carrying baby. <3

Wiggling Frog

I've been feeling Baby Brady kick for a solid three weeks now. I couldn't wait for that day to come and now it's like he never stops moving... He's actually kicking up a storm right now. :-) Trevor used to ask, "What's it feel like?" The best description I could come up with is it feels something like a little frog inside of a water balloon... In my belly. Totally unusual and comforting all at the same time. He's getting bigger and the kicks are getting stronger and sometimes it feels like he's doing somersaults in there. This video was taken long before I could feel his movements but it shows my active boy at an early twelve week scan. It was the first time we saw him since my first prenatal visit  (and before we knew it was a "him"). We sat in awe staring at this little being inside of me on the screen. He was no longer a still silhouette... For the first time he looked so alive and baby-like wiggling all over the place. ^_^ It was really a sweet moment for the both of us.

In Two Lit-tle Years...

It's been a couple of years since I've updated a blog and it wasn't until I logged into my account on Friday that it hit me just HOW MUCH has changed. In two years I managed to get engaged, adopt a puppy (my sweet Kenai), graduate from college, move to Seattle, get married, move to Los Angeles and am now a momma-to-be. Phew. So much packed into just twenty-four months. It's amazing to think what could happen in another two years but for now I'm super content with relaxing and enjoying the view for a while.

I did have fun reminiscing through my old blog... My sleepless term paper nights, Lana Del Rey music videos and train trips to Tucson to visit Trevor. *Flash forward two years.*  Barely making it past ten o'clock at night (I have pregnancy to blame for that), my love for Lana Del Rey and her new stuff is almost all but gone, and now I don't have to travel six hours to visit my college boyfriend... I get to fall asleep next to my handsome husband every.single.night. ;-)

I also found it interesting that my last post was a (bittersweet) Mad Men clip and the excitement I found in Bobby Draper "to be a mommy one day". So, I find it totally fitting to dedicate my first post here (the first of many) to the biggest news of my life- Our baby boy due this Christmas! We can't wait to meet you, Baby Brady. <3 Kenai, don't look so sad!
